As you may already know, my husband and I are expecting another child, and this letter is to inform all the parents that I will begin my maternity leave starting this December 15. Barring unforeseen circumstances, I will return to my duties January 25. In my absence, Miss Meintel will be handling my classes and teaching responsibilities. With her many years of experience, I know my students will be in good hands while I am on leave.
Miss Meintel and I are working together to make this as smooth a transition as we can for the students. As long and often as I can, I will continue to answer emails from parents and students. I will also be in close contact with Miss Meintel during my leave, in case any situation arises that calls for my attention.
As a result of the timing of my maternity leave, I will be missing the parent/teacher conferences on January 20. In order to make up for this, I will be rescheduling conferences at your convenience (for students in my homeroom). Once I return to school, I will send home a letter with students that includes times and dates I will be available for conferencing. You will be able to choose from the meeting times listed, or request other times if need be. If your student is not in my homeroom, but you would like to schedule a conference for any reason, please contact me any time after January 25 so we can set up a time and date.
Let me finish by saying I will miss each and every one of my students. I will unfortunately miss out on some of the Christmastime activities and concerts, but I should return in time for Catholic Schools Week! I look forward to seeing you all again when I return to the classroom and working with your children.
